New at Above the Waves...Grace and Truth! {link up}

Have you ever read the book, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? That was one of my kid's favorite books when they were little.  If you're not acquainted with this book, it's a silly tale of how one thing leads to another.  "If you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to want some milk to go with it"  It goes on, with one request leading to another- and another. A little boy gives the mouse a cookie, having no idea what it will lead to, but he obediently fulfills each request- and it leads to bigger and bigger things.

I couldn't help thinking of that story as I read this week's feature.  Except this story is ongoing, it's true, and it's purpose really matters. It's a story of how one lady started with a simple resolution (to read more books). It was an act of obedience.  It was something that she felt God was calling her to do. It led to far more than reading.

When God is calling us to follow him, we may not know where he's going to lead us. That thing we are asked to do may seem small, but one thing will lead to another- and then another.  When we walk in obedience to God, there is no better place to be, even if it's hard. We just have to start.  God has big plans for us, for his glory and our good- plans that will require us to be brave. It's worth it.  Because unlike the fictional story of the boy, the mouse, and the cookie, your story serves a purpose- and it really matters.

Read more about how, It's Never Really About the Resolution in this week's featured post by Katie at, I Choose Brave.  You can also find her on Facebook and Instagram.
