Moments of Gratitude 1.31.22

“In ordinary life, we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.” -Dietrich Bonhoeffer

January brought many sweet moments that I want to remember…

A vintage typewriter, circa 1940. This is the same model Hemingway used. I’ve wanted one for the longest time, and now, it’s mine.

Chickens and turkeys came with our vacation rental. They were fun to watch.

The old farmhouse we stayed in. It was built in 1908 by one of the first settlers to Cashmere Valley. I loved the history of it!

One of the many bedrooms inside the old farmhouse. We had a group of ten and there was plenty of room for everyone.

I love big tables, and I also love this scene…my mom and my niece, working on a puzzle.

The rocker was where I spent most of the weekend.

The fog and light in Bridle Trails made this walk feel magical.

Genevieve needs a haircut, but she’s still very cute.

I will remember this month as a period of waiting and uncertainty. I chose a word for 2022. Do you do that? I wasn’t going to, but this word came to me when I needed it: equanimity: mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper, especially in a difficult situation. It’s a quality I want more of in my life.
