5 Ways God shows his Unfailing Faithfulness

This is not a comprehensive list- but here are five ways that God shows his faithfulness.

God is unfailing in his faithfulness.  He shows that in so many beautiful ways.  I’ve shared several personal stories about how he has shown himself in my life.  He is a personal God, who makes himself known to anyone who asks, but he also shows his faithfulness in big picture ways.  His faithfulness extends to all of his creation, and that’s what I want to focus on now.  This is not a comprehensive list- but here are five ways that God shows his faithfulness.

Creation:

“Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” Psalm 90:1-2 (a prayer of Moses)

God created the universe and he set in motion the physical laws that govern his creation.  It wasn’t an accident.  It is precise and ordered.  Science exists to discover what has been there since the beginning.

People:

“Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country, and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in faithfulness and in righteousness.” Zechariah 8:7-8

Throughout the Old Testament, you can read stories of the promises that God made to his people, to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the prophets.  All of his promises come true.  This is not only true for the people living in the time of the Old Testament though- God has promised to be with his people until the end of time (Joel 2:28-32).

 Spirit:

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” John 14: 15-18

The Holy Spirit in us is what enables us to live the life that we’re called to.  We cannot do it by ourselves.  The Spirit of God in us shows us that God will keep all of the promises of His Word.

 Character:

“For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” Romans 14:11

God would not be God if he failed in even one of his promises.  He never has and he never will.  God is completely sovereign, infinite in wisdom, and perfect in love.

 Word:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  John 1:1

Through God’s word, the Holy Bible, we can see that God never changes and that he has never failed.  His promises are demonstrated throughout the scriptures.  God’s Word is powerful.  Those who hear it and study it cannot do so without being changed.

Thank you taking the time to read today.  I hope that these words encourage you.  I will share five more ways that God shows his unfailing faithfulness soon!
