Dear Friend Who No Longer Attends Church

Hey, Sweet Friend...

I’m writing to let you know that we’ve missed YOU in our fellowship!

We really have! No, we haven’t called or checked on you like we should have. I’m really sorry for this.

We’ve not been as sensitive as we should have been. We’ve dropped the ball in our follow through. We’ve failed you in our outreach.

But, I’m reaching out to you now – today. I really hope it’s not too late.

I want to invite you to come back to church.

Overcoming the Waves of Overwhelm

On this particular day I sit in the silence and let the wave just crash over me. If it was an actual wave it’d be enough to drown me but it’s not that type of wave.

It’s a wave of overwhelm that floods my soul.

It threatens to pull me out to the deep if I don’t find something to cling to. It wants to drag me to the place where fears overtake and hope gets washed away.

God’s Perfect Love for the Woman with a Fickle Heart

Fear grips tightly.  I‘ve known the daily struggle to throw off the chains of fear.  I’ve learned to pray through these times.  I focus my mind on that which is true and of good report.  I meditate on scriptures, which remind me to trust in the Lord with all my heart- and my faith is made stronger.  Fear is replaced with peace.

What I Believe

I appreciate having a good idea what the core beliefs are of the people I allow to speak into my life.  It's not because I think they need to have the same beliefs as me for us to be friends, not at all, but I do think it's wise to be aware of the filter someone is using when considering the influence I'll allow that person to have on me. It occurred to me, recently, that you, dear readers, might appreciate the same thing from me. @@Until now, I haven't had a statement of belief on this blog.  I've fixed that!@@  Here's what I believe....

Making More of Jesus at Christmas with Teens

Making much of Jesus over Christmas isn’t only about commemorating our Lord’s birth.  Making much of Jesus is about following his example and living in a way that brings glory to God.  As Christians, this what we are called to year-round, but the holidays are a special time of year, where people are often particularly sensitive to the things of God.   @@We can use the holidays as an opportunity to be a light in the world for Jesus@@ and we can lead our kids, through our example, in what this looks like.
