Review- Every Wife's Choice: loving beyond the mood of the moment
Every Wife’s Choice: Loving Beyond the Mood of the Moment, by Sarah Fairchild is a book for imperfect wives who want to have good marriages. Sarah addresses the question of what to do when our best efforts aren’t good enough, by using a familiar passage from the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 as an outline for this refreshingly honest look at love and marriage. Sarah’s approach to this well known scripture passage goes beyond the clichés and gets deep, using Greek word study to better understand what God has to say about loving our spouses well.
“Loving our spouses with a biblically-oriented rather than emotionally-oriented love enables us to live out the vows we promised one another, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, ‘till death do us part, whether we always feel like it or not!” – Sarah Fairchild, Every Wife’s Choice
We all have a choice. We are imperfect women, married to imperfect men, and we cannot control the choices our husband’s make in our marriage. Sarah says that this is not a book about marriage, but rather, it’s a book about living out the love that God calls us to, regardless of the shape of the marriage.
“Loving beyond the mood of the moment happens one choice at a time, and God is with you for the long haul.”- Sarah Fairchild, Every Wife’s Choice
Grace filled advice, infused with humor, and supported by a studious attention to detail within the Scriptures made me appreciate Sarah’s words. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to any woman want to strengthen their marriage. This book was well written, informative, and practical.
I have read many marriage books, and this one is different. I feel like the message of taking control of what we have the power over, our own choices, how we love, how we react to conflict, is empowering.
I was given an advance copy of this book in exchange for review, but all opinions are my own. Sarah’s book is available now.
Sarah has graciously offered to allow me to give away one copy of her book to one of you! If you would like a chance to win, just let me know in the comments. I will leave the contest open until August 1st, then I will notify the randomly selected winner.
